House Renovation Architect Announcement

With more than 113,000 applications for fall 2018 freshman admission, UCLA has again set a record for most applicants of any university in the world. But competition does not end with admittance to the University, and with the Epsilon Pi Chapter of Sigma Nu approaching its 90th anniversary (founded in 1930) the House faces a competitive disadvantage against more modern Westwood housing options.

To meet this challenge we will be working with Seattle-based Patano Studio Architecture and Los Angeles-based Neiman Group Architects as the House prepares for a massive bedroom remodel and facility modernization. Beginning this summer with construction on 7 new rooms in the New Wing, all House bedrooms will be completely redesigned, raising our current 39 bed capacity to 44 total beds.

We are pleased to collaborate with both firms as lead architect Chris Patano, a former Sigma Nu EC from the University of Idaho, has extensive experience in fraternity renovations across the country. Just as impressive is Cliff Neiman, who brings 25 years of experience in mixed-practice tenant improvement construction.

Stay tuned for renderings and updates about the phasing of the project as we ensure Sigma Nu UCLA enjoys continued success for another 90 years.
