Spring Quarter Wrap-Up

A new 82” Samsung Smart TV was purchased to replace the broken projector in the chapter room and has already been used for several sports and a Game of Thrones viewing parties. The brothers are grateful for this alumni contribution and it has become an attractive feature to retain live-ins for the 2019-2020 academic year. Thanks to Alumni Brothers Dave Schmidt (EP 738) and Jim Cady (EP 790) for their help on this project.

The social component of life at 601 continues to thrive with the chapter enjoying events with Delta Grama, Alpha Phi, and Pi Phi and a trip to Palm Springs for the annual White Rose formal. This year’s white rose queen is a member of Pi Phi who also was pinned to one of our seniors.

The quarter’s most impactful event occurred May 9 when the chapter hosted their Balls to the Walls Home Run Derby. The philanthropy event raised just over $1,000 for the Movember Foundation which promotes testicular cancer and mental health awareness. A fearless team comprised of Dom Collins, Brock Bauer, Blake Rocheleau, and Payton Rockwood crushed the most homers on the day while Movember’s campus ambassador delivered an impassioned appeal for the foundation’s mission. All 75 in attendance enjoyed Pizookie pizza and smoked meats from house chef Fabian.
