This November, retired US Navy Captain Jerry Coffee (EP 468) will return to UCLA for the first time in over 20 years. One of longest held Vietnam prisoners of war and now a highly-respected military commentator, Captain Coffee is excited for the opportunity to meet the current crop of Epsilon Pi Sigma Nu brothers and tour the fraternity house’s recent New Wing Hall renovation.
Among the adventures Jerry shared with brothers were a near-miss run-in with a Navy destroyer while diving for lobsters at night and managing to keep a Volkswagen bus upright with a half dozen howling Sigma Nu’s in the back on ski trips to Dodge Ridge, “Always very hairy maneuvering that VW bus in the snow on icy roads.”
No matter what the news says, Greek life continues to grow and expand its reach. Students across the nation have shown an increase in Greek life interest over the last few years and enrollment is rising, member achievement is increasing and the dedication to philanthropy is thriving.
Thanks to the our alumni donors and House Renovation Committee a complete remodel of New Wing is nearly complete.
Sophomore Omar Aly (EP 2076) challenged incoming freshman basketball player Shareef O’Neal at a recent gathering at Sigma Nu and became a national story as the 1-sided outcome received nearly 2 million views online within the first week of the video posting online…
